In the ‘Hi, Speed’ Apple event Apple has launched four new iPhones namely iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max with the world’s first 5nm A14 Bionic chipset, 5G support and more and this is everything about you need to know.
Design and Display:
Speaking of design, The 12 series of iPhone come with a flatter frame, which is similar to the ones found on the iPad Pro when compared to the curved one found on the iPhone 11 series while the rest such as bath-tub notch and the square cut-out to house the cameras remain the same. The front of the phone is Ceramic Shield, a new glass + ceramic protective layer that’s been developed in partnership with Corning. The regular variant of the phone comes with an Aluminum frame while the Pro model comes with stainless steel. All the models of the iPhone come with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
Talking about displays, Unlike the 11 series which had LCD for the regular and OLED for the Pro model but this time All the 12 series of phones come with Super Retina XDR (OLED) panels. The 12 mini comes with a 5.4-inch display, the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro have a 6.1-inch display and the iPhone 12 Pro Max comes with a 6.7-inch display.
The entire iPhone 12 lineup is powered by the latest A14 Bionic chipset, which is the world’s first chipset based on the 5nm architecture. The chipset comes with a 6-core CPU, 4-core GPU, and a new 16-core Neural Engine. All the iPhone models come with support for 5G connectivity (mmWave and sub-6GHz networks).
The regular iPhone 12 and 12 mini come with a dual-camera setup, the primary is a 12MP (f/1.6) primary camera and the second is 12MP (f/2.4) ultra-wide lens with a 120-degree FOV, with support for OIS, Smart HDR 3, 4K @ 60FPS video recording and many more.
As for the Pro series, They come with a triple camera setup along with a LIDAR sensor. the iPhone 12 Pro comes with 4x optical zoom and 12 Pro Max comes with 5x optical zoom, while the rest of the sensor is similar to iPhone 12.
MagSafe Wireless Charger:
If you are someone who used Macbooks back in 2014, you might be familiar with the MagSafe feature while Apple ditch it later in favor of a Type-c charging, Apple now decided to revive the feature for the iPhone 12 series in the form of a new magnetic wireless charging solution. There are now magnets built into Apple’s new phones, along with the wireless charging coil, that enables users to properly align and snap chargers onto the back.
Price and Availability:
The iPhone 12 and 12 mini will come in five color variants – blue, black, green, white, and red. The Pro variants, on the other hand, will come in four colors – silver, gold, graphite, and Pacific blue.
The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro will be available to buy from October 30th in India. The iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max will be up for pre-order from November 6th and go on sale from November 13th.
