Buying Redmi K20 Pro in 2020?

Redmi K20 Pro got a price cut of 4000/- in flipkart now which makes it a good deal at that price, But we are in 2020 now and this model released nearly an year ago. How can this compete with current flagships? Let’s find out.

Design and build
Redmi K20 Pro has classy glass back with a flame design which makes us feel like a flagship and it’s about 190 gms, protected by Gorilla glass on display and back which makes it more robust. I personally like the simple vertically aligned camera setup which makes it look more formal. And the Pop-up camera is pretty intelligent evenn if you drop phone accidentally this will be closed within a second, we tested it several times with drop test and camera is perfectly fine. It has a bigger bezel less display without any notch or punch hole and that’s quite interesting point to note. People often say that parts with mechanical action won’t work after some days. But I’m using K20 Pro from last 1 year it’s still working pretty fine
K20 Pro is available in 4 colors - Flame Red, Glacier Blue, Carbon Fiber Black, Pearl White
And also it enhances privacy, when some app trys to use camera this camera should come up, BOOM you’ll easily know.

I personally like AMOLED screens over IPS LCD and the Bezell less display with screen to body ratio of 91% which makes it more elegant. Also we do have good brightness even in sun light. And 6.39 inches of screen size, makes it more handy than bigger 6.7 inch displays coming these days.

The most happening processor these days is Snapdragon 765G as NORD, Pixel 4a and other major devices are coming with 765G, But still Snapdragon 855 is better that 765G except 5G support. 5G support for the next 2 years is like a myth. Even performance wise k20 Pro is tough competitor.

Camera wise K20 Pro is still good, Redmi supports with better updates to camera app to make it more better. And with GCam you’ll get pretty great pictures.
OS and update support
OS - MIUI 12
It works on MIUI which is built on top of Android. Even though it’s an old device MIUI updates support will be there for next 3 years upto MIUI 12 which makes it more worthy. Recently MIUI 12 has been came to K20 series within 2 months of release.

Verdict
Even if we compare to other phones at this price we won’t get that build quality and flagship look. Also Snapdragon 855 is a true beast which is more worth than 765G or 730G. We prefer K20 Pro as the best deal now on flipkart for 24,000. If you’re looking to buy this, Go ahead, This is still a flagship and it’s still worthy to buy in 2020.
